Mmmmm TASTY!

So as you've probably noticed. Food is a perfect match for fashion. (And yes i mean the carb filled , amazingly tasty treats we love!!). It makes sense for fashion to imitate food, both are things that are desirable, pleasurable and make people go soft at the knees. Its like sex basically and since fashion sometimes imitates the sex it makes sense to imitate sweets. For example these!

Yes im talking about them. (Personally i hate these sweets ...) Designers like Giambattista Valli , Henry Holland, Paul & Joe, Yves Saint Laurent etc (because i could go on for aggges) have taken inspiration from these treats to make dresses like these...

The dresses seem like a sure bet for summer , as they look ready to wear. I ecpect a few copys to be in primark and topshop by summer next year .

When is manly too manly??

I've never been a girly girl and i dont nessecarily think thats such a bad thing. Look at Chanel , or even the tough girl chick look of Burberry or Topshop. They arent speciffically girly there mainly collections filled with peaces that are supposed to be modern and allow the wearer to feel like they achieve some kind of power or status from it. But when does manly fashion go to far? I've really having trouble contemplating this...

I mean as a teenager i am obsessed with the idea of wearing a check shirt and jeans, or a baseball jacket and hardy boots. Theres something powerful about wearing the trousers or wearing a sharp suit or waistcoat. Its the totally opposite of the skimpy short shorts and revealling t-shirts the world expects girls of my age to where it gives me a sense of rebellion. But even i know sometimes it goes to far and having boobs doesnt help the problem.

Anyways on a better note, i thought i'd link in one night only's acoustic session for Burberry because the song makes me want to fall in love and ironically i would kill to dress like the front man and model George. :P

Passage Based Reading.

Hello!

Hair icon of the week: some year twelve who has pretty amazing shiny ginger hair (it must be shiny. Shiny shiny shiny).

Style icon of the week: me! Because I have an amazing new coat.

It is amazing, and reminds me of Sirius Black, so I feel like a witch (awesome Harry Potter type, not creepy Roald Dahl type) whenever I wear it. Aaaand, if I leave it unbuttoned and go down some stairs or run really fast or something, it billows out behind me and looks like a cape. C'est magnifique!

This is the part of the blog where I search some shiz on google to see if I can see something remotely fashionable.

Alas! These are pretty awesome (though may not be fashionable, I really don't know) and my sister is getting them for her birthday later this week, which means that little Onwuemezi is the way to becoming cooler (way cooler) than me. Aaaah. Must up my style game.

The Blue lace dress

I'm in love, with a dress. Actually, with more a type than a particular dress, really. I'm in love with lace this season, especially the natural white lace types that have been popping up in magazines etc of late. But this type is special for one, its blue and sexy and regal and everything needed for an amazing winter wardrobe ( and by winter wardrobe i dont mean ugg boots and a huge hoody) . It just reminds me of royalty and everything I love in fashion. That classic look!

I'm also in desperate need of boots! Amazing lovely hardy boots for those cold winter mornings to college. I think this is probably because Tash just got an amazing pair and I want them, I want them bad! I think i'll have to raid my bank account to pay for it :) I also want hunting shoes, like DOE shoes which can get muddy and dirty and scratched.

Anyways i have work to do but i assure you i'll be back soon
Love, Sasha
